Take-Two Interactive’s leadership is calling GTA 6 pre-orders “exceptional” so far, signaling strong early demand ahead of the game’s launch. The statement comes from the publisher’s executive team and reflects confidence in what’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases in gaming.

Grand Theft Auto 6 represents the first mainline entry in Rockstar’s flagship franchise since GTA V dropped back in 2013—over a decade ago. That kind of gap creates serious pent-up demand, and the pre-order momentum appears to validate the hype.

What the Numbers Mean

While Take-Two hasn’t released hard pre-order figures, calling them “exceptional” is corporate speak for “we’re pleased.” For a studio of Rockstar’s caliber with a franchise this massive, that’s meaningful. It suggests Day One sales will be strong and the publisher expects the game to perform at the level the GTA name carries.

The GTA 6 Setup

GTA 6 is headed to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and while a PC version hasn’t been officially confirmed, Rockstar typically brings its mainline GTA games to PC eventually. The game was officially announced in December 2023 and generated immediate buzz with its first trailer showcasing a Vice City-inspired setting and a dual-protagonist story.

The franchise has a proven track record: GTA V became one of the best-selling games ever and remains a revenue driver for Take-Two years after launch, thanks in part to Grand Theft Auto Online’s ongoing support and monetization.
